Start with SiteGPT when you want a website-oriented FAQ assistant; consider Tiledesk when the answer must sit inside a support flow with an explicit human handoff. In both cases, the useful buying question is whether the system can stay within approved policy and pass an unresolved request to someone who can act.
This is a two-option editorial shortlist based on official sources and live public pricing checked October 29, 2026. Both tools are published in the Toolveyor catalog. We selected them for knowledge-based answers, a route to human support and inspectable usage limits. We did not create an account, upload customer records, test a chatbot or measure resolution rates.
Use a small, approved FAQ set with an owner and a revision date. For each answer, preserve eligibility conditions, exceptions, the next action and the source that authorizes it. A clean set of twenty current answers is a better evaluation input than a large folder mixing drafts and retired policies.
For example, a fictional return policy might allow unused items within 30 days, with a separate rule for damaged deliveries. The assistant should not turn that into an unconditional refund promise. Decide what must be answered, what needs clarification and what always requires a person before importing the material.
Our Notion AI handoff guide covers preparing a source-bounded document and checking access. This shortlist concerns using approved support knowledge in an interactive answer workflow, rather than drafting a document or creating a video.
| Your current bottleneck | Starting option | What to evaluate first |
|---|
| Visitors cannot find answers in a maintained help center | SiteGPT | Source selection, refresh process and unresolved questions |
| Answers must lead into a defined support queue | Tiledesk | Knowledge retrieval, handoff and unavailable-agent behavior |
| Nobody owns the underlying policy | Fix the FAQ process first | Approval and revision ownership before automation |
These are workflow recommendations, not measured claims that one product answers more accurately. The next sections explain the documented capabilities behind each choice.
SiteGPT describes training a chatbot from website URLs, files or raw text, then embedding it on a site. Its official overview includes quick prompts for common questions, chat-history feedback and a visitor-initiated path to a human. That fits a team whose approved material already lives in a help center and whose immediate problem is making it easier to find.
The provider's support-chatbot guide documents custom support instructions and enabling human support. It also acknowledges that answers may infer information from training material rather than repeat a source sentence. For an approved-FAQ workflow, evaluate those inferences carefully: a plausible extension of a policy can still be an unauthorized promise.
Start with a restricted set of current pages or a curated source file. Inspect the selected content before making the assistant public. Test wording that sounds similar but changes the eligibility condition, and ask a question the FAQ does not cover. A fluent response is insufficient evidence that the intended boundary holds.
Choose it when: a maintained support site is your natural source and a focused website assistant matches the job. Be cautious when: policy changes frequently but the selected plan depends on someone remembering to refresh the content.
Tiledesk is a candidate for teams that need to design what happens around an answer. Its knowledge-base architecture guide describes retrieving relevant document chunks and using them to synthesize a reply. The guide notes that query and answer tokens consume usage and that source organization affects retrieval. This supports a practical evaluation with a small, consistently organized FAQ set rather than a promise of error-free answers.
Its Transfer to a Human action can connect a flow or button to an available operator. When nobody is available, the chat moves to an unassigned queue. That detail matters: handing off a conversation is not the same as ensuring an immediate human response. Define who monitors that queue and what the visitor should expect outside staffed hours.
Tiledesk also documents a Self-Learning AI Agent workflow that can turn resolved human conversations into new knowledge-base articles. For this specific use case, keep that separate from the initial approved-only corpus. A resolved individual exception should not silently become a general policy. Establish a review process before adopting a learning loop that expands what the assistant can use.
Choose it when: your team wants a configured answer-and-escalation flow and can maintain its queue and knowledge sources. Be cautious when: nobody has time to own the operational flow after the initial setup.
The following public prices were checked on the providers' current pages. Currencies differ; this is not a currency-converted cost comparison. Annual figures are monthly equivalents with yearly billing, not month-to-month prices. Verify taxes and the actual subscription quote before payment.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly-billing equivalent | Selected included limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| SiteGPT Starter | US$59/month | US$39/month; US$468/year | 1 chatbot, 1 member, up to 1,000 training pages |
| SiteGPT Growth | US$129/month | US$79/month; US$948/year | 2 chatbots, up to 4 members, up to 10,000 pages |
| Tiledesk Pro | €149/month | €124/month, billed yearly | 3 users, 20 AI agents, 300 knowledge-base items |
SiteGPT pricing lists a seven-day trial requiring a credit card and no ongoing free plan. Starter uses manual refresh; Growth adds monthly automatic refresh. Starter's advertised maximum is 4,000 GPT-4.1-mini messages or 400 GPT-4.1 messages monthly, with a mix between them. One training page means 2,500 cleaned characters. Do not treat the largest message number as guaranteed capacity for every model.
Tiledesk pricing lists a fourteen-day trial with no credit card required. Pro includes 5 million AI tokens and 3,000 conversations monthly. Those are separate limits: a conversation allowance is not an unlimited token budget. Its FAQ says AI features are disabled when the AI-token limit is reached. Confirm the trial-to-paid terms and the behavior your visitors would see at exhaustion.
The trials are temporary evaluations. We did not activate either one or enter payment details. Messages, conversations, tokens, pages and knowledge-base items are different units; compare them with your expected workload rather than equating the headline numbers.
Use harmless sample material and record expected outcomes before testing. This is a proposed evaluation, not an experiment we completed:
Log incorrect answers, missing knowledge and failed transfers separately. Fix the source when it is wrong, and inspect the configured behavior when the source is adequate. Avoid adding more documents merely to make the corpus look comprehensive.
