A webinar repurposing subscription can have enough upload capacity and still fail your output plan. Recast Studio separates incoming minutes, exported minutes, clip length and storage. Those are the first numbers a small marketing team should compare.
Verdict: Recast Studio is worth evaluating when the deliverable is a package of short clips and written assets from one recording. A team mainly revising a long tutorial should also consider our Descript review. Recast's documented breadth is useful only if the resulting assets survive editorial review.
Basis: This is an official-source editorial review checked October 25, 2026, including the live Monthly and Yearly pricing controls. We did not upload a webinar, test caption accuracy, connect social accounts or benchmark editing speed. The cover is conceptual artwork.
The best candidate has a repeatable brief: one approved webinar, a few standalone clips, a written summary and a known set of distribution destinations. The team wants to reuse source material across formats and accepts responsibility for reviewing claims and context.
It is a weaker starting point when the job requires complex motion graphics, detailed frame-by-frame repair or a finished long-form lesson. Do not infer those capabilities from automatic clipping. If you only need an occasional short excerpt, evaluate the trial against that excerpt before buying a recurring plan.
Our broader video repurposing shortlist compares different starting workflows. This review goes deeper into whether one Recast plan can cover a defined webinar package.
The official product overview describes clip creation, reframing, captions, transcript-based cuts, written drafts and social scheduling. These features connect the editing and distribution stages. They do not establish that a suggested highlight preserves the speaker's meaning or that an automatically reframed chart remains legible.
Treat the transcript and generated copy as drafts. The useful deliverable is a reviewed clip with an accurate caption, a comprehensible opening and a destination-appropriate frame. A large count of generated suggestions is not a count of usable assets.
The pricing page showed the following USD offers. Annual headline equivalents are rounded by the provider; use its displayed annual charge rather than multiplying the rounded figure by twelve.
One credit represents one uploaded minute. Professional has larger selectable credit packages; the figures above describe the base selection, not every Professional configuration. Taxes and the final offer should be checked before purchase.
A separate content-repurposing page advertises ten free AI minutes, while the pricing grid describes 60 one-time upload credits. These may refer to different allowances; we did not verify equivalence. Confirm your account's actual trial counters rather than treating the two numbers as interchangeable.
The pricing grid lists trial exports at five minutes per month, with one minute per clip. Starter lists 300 exported minutes monthly and a 15-minute single-clip maximum; Professional lists 600 and 60 respectively. Trial storage is 3 GB for seven days, versus 15 GB for Starter and 50 GB for Professional while subscribed.
Those limits answer different questions. Upload capacity determines how much source material you can bring in. Export capacity determines how much finished video can leave. Storage affects how long projects remain available. None tells you how many outputs your editor will approve.
Consider an illustrative monthly brief: four 45-minute webinars, with three 45-second clips from each. That is 180 source minutes and nine finished video minutes, before revisions or alternate formats. This is arithmetic, not a tested Recast workload.
Starter's monthly upload allowance is below that source total even though its export allowance is much larger than nine minutes. An annual upfront allowance changes when credits are available, but does not make the annual subscription a monthly cancellation option.
Use a planning sheet with source duration, repeated uploads, alternate aspect ratios, expected clip duration, revision exports and archive requirements. Leave room for work rejected during review. Ask how retries or reprocessing consume credits if that matters to your production pattern; we did not establish a universal rule for every operation.
Start with material you have permission to process and publish. Include a difficult segment, such as a slide-heavy explanation, rather than only a clean talking head. Keep the long source until the assets have been approved and exported.
Recast's documented advantage is the connection between multiple asset types and distribution. The buying risk is assuming that generous exported minutes remove the source-credit or storage bottleneck. Another limitation of this review is that we have not measured the work needed to correct actual outputs.
Use Descript as an alternative to investigate for transcript-first long-form editing; compare actual plans separately. Use Recast when the content-package workflow matches your brief and its counters cover your workload.
Open the Recast Studio card, prepare one authorized recording and evaluate the smallest package you would really publish. Subscribe after checking usable outputs and the limiting allowance, rather than the number of AI suggestions.
